Our workshops
We all love the InterAct Festival workshops. So much that we took them on the road this year. Check out what our workshop participants did.

Card Making with Janet
I and a helper (or two) will bring all the card making material to you. The cards are very easy to make. Each takes around 10 to 20 minutes to make. There will be 3 designs – one Christmas theme and two general. My goal is to make sure that the participants are involved in the creating process and proud of the result. At the end, everyone will have similar but different looking cards.
Please prepare glue sticks and felt pens. I am looking forward to bringing a small taste of the Disability Arts Festival to you this year.

Bracelet Making with Lynn
Make a bracelet using many different varieties of beads! I’ve found making Bracelets with memory wire the most enjoyable way for all to have fun. For the more able bodied, I also use Jewellery elastic which can add that bit more of a challenge. I use plastic beads, and for sight impaired I use textured glass beads. I’ve been doing work with children for over 24yrs either in childcare, home schooling, or making crafts. I’ve held the bracelet making workshop at the last 3 festivals.

Variety of crafts with Carolyn and Stephanie
Birds nest Recycled Weaving: Using a variety of materials such as wool, string, sticks, string beads, pipe cleaners, ribbon, any embellishments, cord, buttons, plastic strapping and other things that can be woven, create something that represents a birds nest (since birds grab all sorts of things they can find to create their nest!).
Carolyn and Stephanie will also have some Christmas crafty decorations to make as well!

Tote Bags/Loom ball key rings with Mary and Lindsay
Decorate your own tote bag! (These are the same that were sent out last year in 2021). You may want to try a different workshop if you got this one last year or feel free to go for it again and decorate another tote bag differently as you can never have enough tote bags right?
Or create a key ring out of loom bands!

Puzzles with Sunita
Create a puzzle within the group by decorating the precut puzzle pieces we have (each piece approx. 7cm x 6cm). Frame it up and hang it in the classroom! (Frames not provided…that’s just an idea) or use it as a Christmas decoration to hang on the tree.

Make a Film with Hank
Hank will visit your classroom for one 4 hour session to support you making a short video. He will help you at any or all stages of production and see you through to the final edit. You may have an idea already, such as a performance or a story to tell, or you just want to get your students involved in a film project but you’re not sure how. Hank can help you to create, shoot, direct and edit your creative production.
It is imperative that you contact Hank beforehand to discuss ideas and activities so that everyone can be prepared.
